As a part of our initiative of providing educational enrichment in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), girls were thrilled as they traveled to Florida and visited the Kennedy Space Center for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! They launched into history as they zoomed into space in a lifelike shuttle launch simulator. They also participated in tours, educational presentations, interactive activities, and more. Girls were delighted with a special treat of dining with an astronaut and hearing about the amazing life experiences of traveling in space! One of the girls actually participated in the astronaut’s representation! Our most recent Florida trip was conducted from Tuesday, August 9th through Friday, August 12th, 2011.
New York and Broadway here we come! As a theatre, arts, and music initiative for girls, they will travel to New York City in 2012 and attend the Lion King Broadway musical production! This enriching excursion will also entail girls touring interesting sites such as Empire State Building, State of Liberty, Times Square and more!
Our Cooper River Bridge Run team of girls will culminate their program by traveling to Atlanta, GA and visiting the Centennial Olympic Park, Coca-Cola Factory, and other intriguing sites.
